Two months ago, ODH welcomed our new website administrator, Dave Barrington (david.barrington@byu.edu). Dave has done an excellent job continuing the work done by his predecessor, John Cheng, whom we all greatly miss. Hiring changes are bittersweet, but Dave has made the transition easy.
As website administrator, Dave is responsible for maintaining all of the WordPress websites developed by the College of Humanities (they are not few in number). In addition to maintaining current websites, Dave and his students also work on new sites, often collaborating with Dr. Kathie Gossett’s UX team.
For Dave, his work is meaningful because of you! He enjoys working on website front ends because it is so people-oriented. If you’ve got a website, Dave’s the one working hard behind the scenes to make your experience the best that it can be. And like most of us on campus, he’s noticed a special spirit here at BYU: “I love it, and it’s great to experience that on a daily basis.”
Stop by Dave’s office and say hi: strike up a conversation about music, food, or his family! He recently joined a community choir, but his love for music began long ago in school choirs and musical theater. He is a sushi-lover and has plenty of recommendations for restaurants, both budget-friendly and otherwise. Dave and his wife, Molly, met in high school, married after his mission in England, and now have an 11-year-old son.
Welcome, Dave! ODH is excited to have you.
