We are excited to announce that the new WordCruncher website, wordcruncher.com, is live!
New Logo, New Content, New Look
Featuring a brand new logo and look, WordCruncher’s updated user guide and other resources are now available via a more user-friendly site.
WordCruncher was one of the earliest text analysis softwares, first created in the 1980s. Since then, the WordCruncher app has added new tools and features, but this is the first time the logo itself has been redesigned. The new logo features two books in the shape of a W, with a bookmark that ties back to the classic logo.

The new website offers updated instructions and examples for helping you navigate WordCruncher. It’s the result of the collaboration between designers, writers, and developers in ODH. Kathie Gossett’s team of UX designers created the new logo and new website design, a team of editors and writers reworked the content of the WordCruncher user guide, and our developers put it all together!
What’s WordCruncher?
It’s a text analysis software–you can read eBooks like a Kindle reader, search through the text, and use analysis reports to study word relationships, n-grams, and more. You can search and analyze books from the bookstore, like The Scriptures, General Conference, and Riverside Shakespeare, or any text you import. Whether you’re studying General Conference addresses, writing a talk, collecting data for a paper, or analyzing corpora, WordCruncher is the program for you.
The Future of WordCruncher
WordCruncher is a powerful text analysis tool, and our developers are working hard to make improvements. Today, we strive to enable students, faculty, and researchers in their textual analyses. The new WordCruncher website reflects the direction we are headed.
In the coming years, WordCruncher will continue to improve. The software is an indispensable resource that enables students, faculty, and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world to produce meaningful scholarship and develop a deeper understanding of language, literature, and scripture.
Currently, our team is developing a more user-friendly and accessible version of the app, WordCruncher 8! It will be a cross-platform application with a new and improved interface, and its release is the next step of many great improvements, all supporting the work of users for years to come.
